Referee Certification Course Information
An entry level (R9 or blue badge) referee course will be held in the Senior Dining Room at Gold Dust Park on Thursday, August 16th from 6pm-9pm and Saturday, August 18th from 9am-4pm. The referee must attend both days to receive credit and take the exam. The cost is $80 for the course and gets the referee certified for a year (those that take the course now will likely receive a 2013 badge which will last until Dec 2013). The registrant must take and pass the written exam at the end of the day on Saturday with a minimum score of 75% (the test is 50 questions and is generally multiple choice or true/false). While there is no minimum age requirement, the passing rate on the written exam drops dramatically for those under 12.
To register for the course, simply go to www.gareferees.com and click on "sign up for classes" on the left side. Then click on the "entry
course (R9)" tab. Then click on the date for the Villa Rica course. Once the course info pulls up, click on the "login here" button at the bottom of the page. You will need to create a login for the referee and then you can register for the course.
It is advisable that you register for the course soon, even if you don't plan on paying until the class. If the state does not receive at least 15-20 registrations by 2 weeks prior to the class, it will be cancelled. We are only able to handle 40 registrations and we believe the course will fill up quickly.

At our last VRSA Board Meeting a motion was made to pick a name for our soccer club. We have listed many of those suggestions in the poll to the right. We will take the top 2-3 names and vote on a club name at our next Board Meeting on Thursday, June 21st at 7:30pm at Gold Dust Gym. You can only vote once, but you can choose as many names as you like with your vote. Make your voice heard and help choose a club name for VRSA! |
